Saint Francis of Assisi

After returning home from war, Francis felt drawn to serve the poor. He renounced his wealth and assumed a simple life, free of possessions. His simplicity soon attracted many followers. Today, the Franciscan Order remains one of the world’s most beloved religious institutions.
